The story behind the Ellp categories

Written by Janice

July 13 - (4 Min Read)

Ellp’s latest update brings a number of new infrastructural changes, including a new navigation menu and a sharing facility. However, the most noteworthy of them all would be the redefined categories. So far we’ve introduced you to Ellp and its automation mechanism – the Ellp cards. Now, it’s high time that we go into detail about the Ellp categories themselves, without which Ellp would be a huge pile up of disorganized cards/ disaster in the making. It’s not the case! Yet knowing where we want to take Ellp in terms of variety of cards and functionalities, it just cannot make do without categorization.

At the beginning of it all, back in September 2016, Ellp started out with 6 categories and 8 cards which have now been redefined into 4, covering: Productivity, Performance, Security, and Entertainment, allowing for easy navigation of the cards, which now add up to almost 30 cards. This not only facilitates a better user experience but also increases the visibility of the Ellp cards you really need and want to make use of.

So what do these categories cover?

Taking care of your PC, whilst handling multiple tasks at one go can be a headache at times – to say the least! We’ve all been there, I’m afraid! With the help of categories, you can have peace of mind, as you can easily find and activate the cards you need to perform the tasks for you. Let’s take a look at the 4 categories:

1. Productivity

It is so easy to get stuck wasting time on menial tasks or just wasting time in general, especially on social media. Busted! However, work still needs to be done, and the reality is that with such a busy life we lead, we all wish we could be more productive and get more done in less time. As the saying goes, time is money, so why not get Ellp to help, this way you make better use of your time and believe me, you’ll find yourself soaring through your daily tasks in no time! Here are Ellp’s top 3 productivity cards to help you declutter and increase your productivity, and stay focused:

  • When I’m spending too much time on Facebook, ping me
  • When I download the same file twice, let me know
  • When I download a document, save it to my preferred folder

ellp categories-top-3-productivity-cards

2. Performance

Sometimes your lack of productivity may not necessarily be your fault, it could be affected by your PC performance. It’s frustrating to get work done when your PC isn’t cooperating – maybe it takes longer to start up and runs slowly or takes an infinite amount of time to perform even the simplest and easiest of tasks. Don’t you worry, Ellp’s got you sorted! These are our top 3 performance cards, but there’s more from where these came from, so go ahead, download Ellp and get the full range.

  • When an application is slowing down my PC startup, alert me
  • When my hard disk is getting full, free up space
  • When it’s time, check my internet speed

ellp categories-top-3-performance-cards

3. Security

I guess PC security and privacy is a number one priority on everyone’s list, especially considering the amount of cyber attacks the world has experienced in the past couple of months. No one wants to have their personal credentials, whether bank account details or personal emails or files circling the web for everyone to see. So if you’re worried about having your PC and online activities being compromised, why not try these 2 Ellp cards:

  • When my email is involved in a data breach, alert me
  • When it’s time, perform a privacy cleanup

ellp categories-security-cards

Best part – there’s no need for you to break the bank, as Ellp is completely free!

The production of security cards takes much longer as this is a more complex task. For the time being, we’ve perfected the 2 cards mentioned above and we’re working on new security cards to be released soon. Stay tuned as they’re going to be awesome!

4. Entertainment

Everyone has his or her own way of chilling out after a hectic a day – maybe a drink after work with friends just to ease that stress or simply chillax at home listening to some music or watching that last episode from your all-time favorite series. With this in mind, we came up with solutions to save you those extra minutes, and jump straight into relaxation mode! that after a busy day can make a difference.

Our reasoning behind the cards is to give the fastest access to whatever you want to do to relax, as those couple extra minutes can make a difference after a busy day!

  • When I plug in my headphones, open my favorite application
  • When I download a song, save it to my preferred folder
  • When I plug in my headphones, open Spotifyellp categories-top-3-entertainment-cards

Let me tell you – you aren’t the one to blame – your Downloads folder is!

Welcome to the first post in the new Ellp Series: Monday Productivity Boost. Each week, we will be sharing with you some small yet very powerful tips on how to boost your productivity either with introducing small changes in your routine or with flipping the proper switch within Ellp. Today, we’ll have a closer look at Downloads Folder Management. Ready?

Shannon Wheeler Quote

Mindlessly scrolling through the Downloads folder with a childlike wonder is something we are all guilty of. It’s something that can hinder our productivity in major ways:

  • We can lose our creative flow and end up stuck for hours on a project that normally would take us half an hour max;
  • We may present our boss with the outdated version of the monthly sales report without ever noticing and ‘feel’ the mistake in our wallet by the next bonus payment;
  • We miss a deadline all in all, and an important one, too!

Mindlessly scrolling through the Downloads folder is where are productivity leeks. Let’s change it!

Downloads Folder Management Tip 1 – No guilt needed, just awareness

So, let’s get real. When was the last time you went through your Downloads folder and cleared it out? No need to feel guilty if you haven’t done so in a while. The funny thing is that even if you monitor the number of files saved onto your Downloads folder, chances are that over time it will fill up to the extent that you’ll run out of space! So don’t worry about avoiding such menial tasks, I dread them too.

Unless you have some sort of preconfigured settings, all your downloaded files will be automatically saved to your Downloads folder. All work documents, your outdated resume you’ve been planning to update since last June, pictures from the company party, blurry photos of your mom’s newly renovated bathroom… No wonder you can spend ages here!

It’s a good idea to clean your Downloads folder every now and again, so as to clear out the files that are cluttering up your disk space – especially if you’re limited with storage space. After all, the Downloads folder is only a temporary space whereby all your downloaded files get downloaded to before you actually go through them and organize them into their respective folders.

Downloads Folder Management Tip 2 – Manual Approach

The thing is that sifting through all the files within the Downloads folder and organizing or clearing them out manually may be somewhat of a tedious and boring task. Now, wouldn’t it be great if you were able to clear out the Downloads folder without the headache of having to manually clear it out yourself on a weekly or monthly basis?

Downloads Folder Management Tip 3 – Ellp’s Approach

This is where Ellp comes in handy! By simply activating this card ‘When my downloads folder is getting full, clear out the old stuff’, and setting the time limit for how long old items can stay in this folder, Ellp will notify you whenever your Downloads folder is filling up.

Full DownloadsYou can choose any period of time between as short as a week and as long as one year and seven more options to best suit your needs. Once Ellp has your approval, it will clear out the old stuff for you, allowing you to get back that valuable disk space you so desperately need!

I encourage you to introduce this small change in your Downloads folder management into your daily PC routine. You can choose whether to do it manually or have Ellp as your PC assistant do it for you. Knowing exactly where to find what you are looking for and not being sucked into endless scrolling through lists of files is a big time saver that results in a major productivity boost. And who wouldn’t want that?

Written by Janice

June 29 - (10 Min Read)

Do pardon my French, but does your PC need a kick in the ass? If yes, it’s safe to say that the new PC charm has worn off, and long gone are the days when you could soar through your workload without a hitch! Don’t fret! There are ways to improve PC performance, but first, you have to understand why such issues arise.

If you are not a techie person nor ever aspire to be one, you may skip the whole article and simply download Ellp. It will do all the PC maintenance for you and more than that – will help you boost your productivity and performance, too!

Why is your PC running slow?

Over time and use, your PC tends to slow down, mostly because it’s full to the brim with your downloaded applications and software, along with other files, such as photos and videos. Other contributing factors might be bad computer habits, such as disregarding standard scheduled maintenance, running multiple programs at once and putting your PC to sleep instead of shutting it down on a daily basis. Whoops! Guilty! I do these more often than I’d like to admit.

With that said, it all boils down to the fact that, with regular use your PC tends to build up unwanted files and fragments your hard drive, resulting in a slow PC, which in turn affects your productivity. All of these problems can be easily taken care of, either by yourself if you have the time and tech knowledge, or by an automation program if you value your time and peace. Either way, they need to be addressed, because if not such issues continue to pile up, with the ultimate result being that you’re presented with a ‘new clunker’ in your life – your PC.

Below, you can find top 5 tips that we have prepared for you to guide you on how to boost your PC performance with no drama and no money involved.

1. Boot your PC and manage startup programs

We tend to brush the first one off. Why? We want to get to work as soon as possible and therefore, if we simply put our PC to sleep, all we have to do is login and not wait for it to start up. Bad call! Starting your PC after a proper shutdown or restarting your PC, helps your computer to recalibrate after a day of work. After all, everyone needs a little shut-eye!

Having multiple programs opening up upon PC startup may hinder your PC startup time. Chances are that these programs continue to run in the background well after startup, using up your PC’s memory. Ellp can help you monitor which applications are slowing your PC at startup by simply activating the ‘When an application start slowing down my PC startup, alert me’ card. When activated, Ellp will pinpoint the applications slowing down your PC startup time. This way you can access the Task Manager, and just go straight to the applications that are delaying you from getting on with your work.

2. Clear out unused programs and applications

Programs and applications tend to take up a lot of space. If they’re used on a regular basis then it’s all well and good, however, if you no longer make use of them, then you might want to consider getting rid of them.

A Pro Tip: Only remove programs and application you recognize, so as to avoid uninstalling any important programs you might need in the future.

Follow these steps to uninstall:

  • Access the Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Programs and Features

From the list provided, simply right-click on the program or application and select Uninstall. If it doesn’t allow you to uninstall, it means that the program or application is a default program or app.

PS. Some really important programs cannot be uninstalled as they are inbuilt and part of your PC’s factory settings.

3. Delete unwanted files

When was the last time you went through your files and cleared unneeded and unwanted files out? Most probably it’s been a while and it’s now taking its toll on PC performance. Keep in mind that the more files you accumulate, the slower and more cluttered your PC will become. Not only that, but these files also take up valuable space on your hard drive. Ellp can easily keep track of such files and your disk’s storage space by utilizing the following Ellp cards:

  • ‘When my downloads folder is filling up, clear out the old stuff’

When activated and time limit for how long old items can stay within the Downloads folder is set, Ellp will notify you whenever your Downloads folder is filling up and with your approval it will clear out the old stuff for you, allowing you to reclaim valuable space.

  • ‘When my Recycle Bin is filling up, keep it clean’

This is one of the folders that is usually packed with unwanted files, however, we never get around to clearing it. This card will do the trick, as once activated it will alert you every time your Recycle Bin is close to being overloaded with old stuff, so you can keep it clean.

  • ‘When my hard disk is getting full, free up space’

By making use of this card, Ellp will inform you whenever your hard drive is close to getting full, and will then free up space for you. Not to worry, Ellp will only delete any temporary and junk files that are no longer needed by you or your PC, so no important files will be deleted. Once such files have been cleared out, Ellp will then notify you with the amount of space regained.

manage -storage-space-cards

4. Defrag your Hard Disk

For some this might be a head spinner, but don’t worry – we’re here to help. Basically, it’s a way of reconfiguring all the empty spaces found on your drive, which affect the way your hard drive thinks. In the sense that, some programs and files might take longer to open up and therefore by rearranging how your drive structure, you improve your PC performance.

To defrag your drive you can do it yourself by following these steps:

  • Open File Explorer and right-click on the hard drive and select Properties. Under the Tools tab, you’ll see Optimize and defragment drive with the option to ‘Optimize’.

If you don’t feel comfortable to defrag your drive yourself you can seek the help of free defrag tools.

defrag disk

5. Do regular maintenance

One of the best ways to get the most out of your PC is to schedule regular maintenance. That is, making sure that you don’t put off software updates and that you update all programs and run security scans, to check for viruses, spyware and any other kind of malware. Performing such regular check, not only improves the functionality of your system but also help patch any security glitches.

It might seem a bit of a tedious and daunting task, because let’s face it, it takes a long time to go through and action all of the above. However, by performing such tasks, you can optimize and boost PC performance along the way.

But yet again, here at Ellp, we ask ourselves this simple question: Why to do it yourself if Ellp can do it for you?

Top 10 Ellp Cards for Photographers

Andrew held a big mug of his favorite coffee and intensely stared at his screen. From the moment he put his headset on, he couldn’t hear anything that was happening in a small one bedroom apartment, recently adapted to a photo studio. He was preparing for an upcoming Insta session with his friends. He knows how daunting and overwhelming it can be. That’s why he needed to download several shots for inspiration.

With a simple flip of the switch, he set up Ellp to save all pictures in ‘Insta’ folder on his desktop. Now, all he needed to do was to choose the best shots. He didn’t need to worry about downloading the same file twice during his hunt for inspiration, as Ellp was there to notify him about any duplicates. Limited space on his laptop, the issue his friends experienced so many times no matter how big their drives seemed to be, was also not an issue for him. Ellp was there to free up some space on his disk, every time his disk became 85% full. Enjoying his PC assistant doing a lot of his job for him, Andrew wished that Ellp could also choose the best props for his upcoming session, too.

Cards Andrew is using:

  • When I download a picture, save it to my preferred folder
  • When I download the same file twice, let me know
  • When my hard disk is getting full, free up space

At first, Jack didn’t want to try another free app, when Andrew recommended it to him. It didn’t take him too long though to find his favorite set of cards. New National Geographic Photo of the Day automatically set as his desktop background every day got his creative juices flowing and was a good productivity boost. Nevertheless, photo editing could become a very draining task at times. In fact, Jack had the tendency to spend more time on Facebook than adjusting lighting settings of Andrew’s shots. Until Ellp came to help. The app would ping him back to work every time he spent over 10 minutes mindlessly scrolling through his newsfeed. Plus, there would be no more fighting at the studio that he left his progressive music on when he left his desk for a moment. Ellp simply mutes the sound for him when he locks his PC.

Cards Jack is using:

  • When my favorite site posts a picture, set as desktop background
  • When I’m spending too much time on Facebook, ping me
  • When I lock my PC, mute the sound

What Alex likes about Ellp is how the app supports his mobile lifestyle. His favorite card monitors his laptop battery level for him and notifies him if it goes down to 40%. It minimizes the risk of the battery going flat on him during meetings with clients, that he likes to hold in local coffee shops. Being notified about open WiFi spots is always a bonus. In order to stay on top of any hacking attempts, Alex uses an Ellp card that alerts him in the case of a data breach involving his email address. But he is especially proud to discover that Ellp can assist as a market researcher, too. Whenever Andrew, his brother, is tagged on a photo on FB, Ellp downloads this photo to ‘Andrew’s Best FB Pics’ folder. This way, with Ellp’s help, they can create a database with Andrew’s most popular work.

Cards Alex is using:

  • When there is a new open WiFi spot, let me know
  • When my battery is half empty, let me know
  • When my email is involved in a data breach, alert me
  • When I’m tagged in a Facebook photo, download a copy

8 Ways to Boost Productivity During Exams

Written by Aneta
Marketing Champion

June 15 - (7 Min Read)

From not getting enough sleep, to completing the most dreadful study tasks in the morning, to drinking way too much coffee and – let’s be honest – hours and hours of procrastination on social media and offline, exams can be the most stressful time during your university adventure.

Constantly thinking about the exams may put a lot of pressure on you which then results in a productivity drop. Even if you put a lot of effort and time into your studies, you may not be happy with your results and miss that scholarship you are counting on. That’s why during this intense learning period, you need to create a support framework for your scholastic efforts.

From organizing your study environment, to helping you eliminate all distractions, to managing your social media time, Ellp has your back! We have prepared for you eight best ways to boost your productivity during exams. Ready, steady, go!

Free Download CTA

1. Set goals

Of course, your main goal is to pass. Yet the learning process should be divided into a set of smaller goals that will eventually help you achieve the main goal. If you haven’t worked hard enough during the year and don’t have much time left, don’t wait for miracles, instead, set measurable goals to track your progress and ensure a positive test result.

How will you set your measurable goals? To finish revising a subject, or reading a chapter, isn’t measurable in terms of knowledge acquired. So how can you measure this more effectively? Think about exercises done, definitions known and learned. An example of measurable objectives includes: know 100% of the definitions of a chapter, know how to do 100% of the simple exercises and 80% of the difficult tasks, etc. This allows you to know exactly where you are in terms of preparation. You won’t need to go back, and you’ll have a clearer, more serene mind. Bonus: you’ll work more efficiently.

2. Organize your workplace

From picking up empty (water) bottles to keeping your PC clean, these seemingly small changes make a big difference in your productivity levels. We can’t help you with making your bed, but we can help you with cleaning your PC.

Think of Ellp as a free app for productivity, designed to make your college life easier. Need to download some materials or save a summary sent to you by a friend? Want to make sure you don’t have unnecessary duplicate files in your Downloads folder and that you can easily track what you downloaded into specific folders? But, how? Ellp has just the right cards designed specifically to do just that. You can find them in the Productivity section of the app.

3. Stay hydrated

Most of us know that staying hydrated is important for physical performance, but did you know that this is just as essential – and perhaps even more so – for our brains? Aim to drink at least 6 glasses of water a day as dehydration can cause headaches and exhaustion. Drinking water helps stimulate the power of our brain and improves our memory. This is why staying hydrated during your exam period is so important, as it can help you succeed and boost your productivity. So be sure to bring a bottle of water when revising and even in the exam room.

4. Limit your time on social media

We are not telling you to cut your social media time to zero as we know for sure that you won’t be able to keep that up – we couldn’t do that either. Instead, make a conscious choice about how you use your social media time moment by moment. How? Here are some tips for avoiding social media and personal technology distractions (spoiler alert – we will mention Ellp again as this is the best app for productivity we know about)!

  • Turn off alerts and notifications on your phone, so that nothing tempts you away from your book
  • Check your emails maximum 3 times a day
  • Set up Ellp’s Facebook card to ping you every time you spend too much time on Facebook. Even if you discuss exams or set up a study group meeting, you may easily get sucked mindless scrolling. Let Ellp motivate you back to work. It will pay off later when you will be celebrating your results!

5. Eat the right food

Successful exams are also prepared on the plate! Whether it’s for the revision period or the day of the tests, you have to be at your best. To do this, eating well is essential. During the exam period, you are a bit like an athlete, except that your main muscles are your neurons! To allow information to be processed, linked together and memorized, your brain consumes energy. This is why it is necessary to have a balanced diet so that you can give the best of yourself.

Interestingly, although the brain accounts for only 2% of our body mass, it absorbs 20% of the oxygen breathed and 20% of the energy consumed. Your brain may be especially greedy during exams time. There are essential foods to help the brain during exam period to enable long-term concentration, fight fatigue, and stress. To support the effort required during examinations, certain nutrients are indispensable:

  • Protein and iron: meat-preferably red, egg, fish (choose fatty fish like mackerel, sardines, salmon, tuna for additional Omega 3 boost)
  • Calcium: dairy and cheese (choose hard cheeses as they contain more calcium)
  • Vitamin C (vitamin of intellectual and physical effort): kiwi, orange, grapefruit, mango, red pepper, parsley, tomatoes

An idea to combine all of the above? Whole-grain pasta with canned tuna in olive oil with fresh tomatoes and parsley. Easy to make, nutritious and yum!

6. Change environment

Your study environment can be a big factor in how successfully you’ll learn and retain information and are able to apply it in your exams. Choosing the right place to study is almost as important as having good study skills. Changing your environment may help your brain stay focused.

Whether it would be your friend’s place, a local library, a quiet park or your favorite coffee place, you need to make sure your laptop stays charged. Since you’re going to be glued to your screen, most probably you won’t even notice that your battery level dropped! Ellp can monitor that for you and alert you the moment your battery level drops below a certain threshold – 80%, 50% or 20% – it’s totally up to you. Just make sure you give yourself enough time to grab your cable and get plugged in before any important work gets lost.

7. Be social

Exams may seem a good time to close your room doors and avoid any company, but they’re not! It’s always important to surround yourself with other people. During such an extensive study period, you just need to manage your social life much better. Join a study group, invite your friends over for an evening walk or jog, or even call your parents for extra support. Spending your time with other people prevents the feeling of separation. It’s especially important during highly stressful times like exams, as stress and lack of socialization combined may lead to depression.

8. Get some rest

The biggest mistake students can make, is to eliminate exercise, entertainment and sleep during the exams period. It’s tempting to do so, as you’d get more studying done, but in the long run, it will affect your concentration and your mode of study. Sport energizes the body, releases the mind and helps fight stress. When you’re relaxed, you gain concentration and attention, so don’t hesitate to go out for some fresh air, for a short jog of half an hour or just a few pushups every morning.

Sleep allows you to record and determine the knowledge acquired during the day. 8 hours per night would be ideal; don’t get too distracted and procrastinate about sleeping. If you are having trouble keeping up with your rest schedule, get Ellp to help. Choose a specific time that you want to finish studying for the day so that your PC shuts down and you can take a nice warm shower and a good night’s sleep.

So, these are the 8 ways to boost your productivity during exams featuring your free digital helper Ellp, the app for productivity used by students around the globe. We hope that you find them useful and that you have already chosen a few to get going.

Good luck with your exams!

These past 3 months flew by in the blink of an eye! I guess that’s what happens when you’re having fun creating and developing a product that people are enjoying 🙂 We can’t thank you enough for your feedback! To show you that your comments didn’t fall on deaf ears, we’ve got more updates for you.

So here’s what’s in store for you this time around:

When I’m spending too much time on Facebook, ping me

At some point in the day, your mind may wander off elsewhere instead of focusing on the task at hand. More often than not, you’ll end up wasting time scrolling through your Facebook newsfeed or snooping around other people’s profiles. Don’t worry, you’re not alone, we’re all guilty of this! Ellp has got a card to remedy this ailment. All you’d have to do is activate this card and select a timeframe, for example: ‘When I spend more than 30 minutes browsing through Facebook, ping me’. Once activated, Ellp will alert you when you’ve spent way too much time on Facebook, so you can stop procrastinating and get back to work.Ellp update - FB ping cardWhen my downloads folder is filling up, clear out the old stuff

When was the last time you went through your downloads folder and cleared it out? No need to be ashamed if you haven’t done so in quite a while, I dread it too! Unless you have some sort of preconfigured settings, all your downloaded files will be automatically saved in your Downloads folder. It would be swell if you were able to clear out the Downloads folder without the headache of having to manually take care of it yourself. No?! This is where this new Ellp card comes in handy! By simply activating this card and setting the time limit for how long old items can stay, Ellp will notify you whenever your Downloads folder is filling up. Once it has your approval it will clear out the old stuff for you, allowing you to get back that valuable disk space you so desperately need!

So we already have a card that launches Spotify when you plug in your headphones or headset. However, not everyone uses Spotify, for some YouTube e is the go-to music site. So we thought, why not have a card that launches YouTube, each time you plug in your headphones? So how does this work exactly? First things first: you’ll need headphones 😉 Once that’s sorted, simply activate the card and boom, you’re all set! This way you can save time and just go straight to your favorite videos and music. Enjoy!

Nowadays we can simply download anything we like, we have access to an immense variety of options, from music files to movies. Meaning that you no longer have to wait till a movie is available at your local cinema to watch it, instead, you can simply purchase and download to watch it in the comfort of your own home. How sweet is that?! The only issue is that we tend to download so many files that it can be somewhat of a nightmare to stay going through all the downloads in search of that movie you’ve been so dying to watch. Now wouldn’t it be easier if you had your downloaded movies saved to a particular folder of your choice? With Ellp this is possible! All you have to do is select this card on Ellp and choose a designated folder that you’d like to have all downloaded movies saved to and voila – that’s you all set!

Ellp update-Movie Pref FolderWith this latest update, now there are 24 Ellp cards made available to you, enhancing your Ellp experience 🙂  This only marks the beginning of Ellp and we promise you that more outstanding updates will be made available to you in the upcoming months. Mornings are always the worst – I must tell you I’m more of a night owl than a morning person. The thought of getting out of my comfy and cozy bed is quite challenging, to say the least! But once I finally do roll out of bed, I drag the rest of my body to the kitchen to make a fresh cup of coffee. The time I really begin to kickstart my day, however, is over a quick browse through my favorite site, and then I’m ready to seize the day! I guess we all have our own unique morning rituals, but what we all probably have in common is that most of us perform the same set of activities day in, day out. So whether it’s checking our emails, scouring the web for the latest tech trends, or going through Facebook feeds and notifications, the first thing you do is power up your PC to open your favorite site.

Since most of us are usually running after time in the morning, we need to make sure that we utilize our time more efficiently. That means all activities must be planned to a tee. Ideally, this would mean we’d already have a few of our activities preset or automated beforehand. For instance, say you’re planning to head to the gym the next day, you’ll definitely need to pack your bag the day before, so after your morning tasks, you can just up and leave without hassling to find your ankle socks and your gym towel. In the case of your daily browsing ritual, wouldn’t it be great if you could wave your magic wand and your favorite site would launch immediately upon startup, without having to stay wasting time searching for and loading it yourself?

Ellp can’t magically brew that cup of coffee you’re so desperately in need of just yet, but it can automatically open any web page you’d like whenever you log onto your computer. This isn’t just useful for leisurely browsing pursuits, but it also saves you lots of time, so you can immediately go straight to the tasks that really matter.

So how does this work? That’s easy! All you’d have to do is activate this card ‘When I turn on my PC, open…’ and then you can either select one of the already pre-listed sites such as Facebook, Amazon, Google, or simply type in your own favorite site, and voila, you’re all set! Now, you’ll be able to start enjoying instant browsing

So what are you waiting for? Download Ellp and rid yourself of morning mayhem and let Ellp set the right tone for the rest of your busy day!

At the beginning of the year, we promised you a lot more Ellp cards to come your way. As you might know, we never disappoint and always keep our promises! With 17 cards already at your disposal, we are thrilled to announce yet another new Ellp update, featuring 3 new card releases 🙌

When I plug in my headphones, open my favorite application

Do you find yourself opening the same applications each time you start up your PC? Since most programs and applications don’t launch automatically upon startup, this means you have to stay spending time locating and opening them manually. If you’re limited with time, this way is certainly not helpful! While pinning your favorite applications to the taskbar is one option, we have a better and faster way to do this! With Ellp’s latest card, you can now automatically launch your preferred application whenever you plug in your headphones. All you need to do is find this card, choose your favorite application, and switch the activation toggle on – and that’s you all set!

When I download a document, save it to my preferred folder

When saving documents to your PC most operating systems tend to save all downloaded files to the downloads folder, which means you need to stay searching through tons of downloaded files just to find the one you’re looking for. This way of going around things is not only irritating but also very time-consuming! To help you keep everything organized on your computer, Ellp came up with a brand new card that lets you save your downloaded documents to a preferred folder of your choice. Now you can access the files you want with ease by simply selecting and activating this card – this way you can use your time more effectively.

When I get disconnected from the internet, alert me

Ever tried purchasing some rad festival concert tickets or set a movie to download only to realize that half way through the transaction or download your internet connection got disconnected? This can be pretty frustrating, especially since there’s no heads-up system in place to let you know that you’ve been cut off!  But don’t stress about it too much, Ellp can help you out with this one! Once you activate this card, Ellp will notify you each time your internet connection gets disconnected – this way you’ll be the first to know when you’ve lost internet connectivity 🙂
